After lunch, drive to Zavižan, one of the best-known localities in the Northern Velebit National Park. Since the mountain hut Zavižan will be your first-night accommodation, you get to visit the Velebit Botanical Garden, surrounding peaks – lookout points (Veliki Zavižan, Balinovac, Zavižanska Kosa, Vučjak) – where you will be rewarded by the most spectacular and breath-taking views of the Kvarner islands and Lika. Since this mountain hut is also the older high-altitude weather station in Croatia, you will also get a chance to meet the most famous meteorologists in Croatia and enjoy your dinner together with other mountaineers.

Day 2: ZAVIŽAN – ALAN – ŠTOKIĆ POD
Get ready for the most spectacular trail also known as the Premužić Trail. After breakfast, a local guide provided by the Northern Velebit National Park will take you through the most beautiful mountain path with some of the most breath-taking views in Croatia. As there are virtually no steep ascents, the route is also suitable for visitors unaccustomed to mountaineering. The 6-hour walk is designed for all people, providing out-of-this-world experience. After reaching the mountain hut Alan, the van will take you to a private household in Štokić pod where you will be welcomed with refreshments, shower and dinner.
Accommodation: private family household
Day 3: ŠTOKIĆ POD – JABLANAC/ZAVRATNICA – THE ISLAND OF RAB
After breakfast, the van will take you first to the lookout over the Zavratnica Bay – the most exquisite landscape of a flooder plain surrounded by steep 100-meters-high canyon cliffs and then to the town of Jablanac from which we will go to the Zavratnica Bay in a half-hour walk down a path along the sea. There you have a chance to enjoy the crystal blue waters and refreshing tree shades. After lunch in a nearby local restaurant, we will take a ferry-boat ride to the island of Rab. Day 4: THE ISLAND OF RAB
Welcome to the island of Rab, a town and island of marvellous scenic diversity, a variety of beautiful beaches, a cultural milieu dating back to pre-Roman times, with its four characteristic bell-towers, bountiful sea, fertile fields, vineyards and olive groves. We will take a local tour in the old town of Rab, visiting all the most famous sights. After the tour, you get to choose between some of the offered optional activities: such as kayaking, fishing or diving (please be sure to point out the chosen activities when booking this tour). You will spend the rest of the day in a wonderful local restaurant by the sea for lunch, on the beach: swimming, sunbathing, and taking some time off before the exciting night out on the town.
Accommodation: camping
Day 5: option A: THE ISLAND OF RAB – THE ISLAND OF GOLI OTOK – THE ISLAND OF PRVIĆ - SVETI JURAJ
Provided that the weather conditions are favourable, a local smaller ship will come to the island of Rab to pick you up and take you after breakfast to visit the island of Goli otok. Goli otok is a small island between the islands of Rab, Sveti Grgur and Prvić, opposite of Velebit Prigorje. The island was the infamous Yugoslav prison for political convicts, making it today an interesting destination for numerous visitors. Our special guide will give you an unforgettable tour of the island, giving you some insider’s information on the past days. After lunch in a local restaurant, the ship will take you to the island of Prvić, an uninhabited island, where you will get to enjoy the calm and the beauty of the sea and island before returning to Sveti Juraj and saying goodbye to your fellow-trekkers.
option B: THE ISLAND OF RAB – THE TOWN OF SENJ
In case the most famous wind of the region, bora, does not allow us to take the ship and visit the local islands, your Tour Leader will take you to the town of Senj, most famous for this wind (Croatia’s windy city). Senj is located where the mountain’s edge is washed by the sea, with intact nature, clean air and crystal clear waters. It is a town renowned for its eventful history, cultural heritage, literature and tradition. There you will visit the historical centre of the town, as well as the most monumental fortress in the entire Croatian Littoral, the Nehaj fortress, built in 1558 to defend the town from Turk and Venetian attacks. Enjoy you last meal on this tour in a restaurant within the fortress.
This tour ends in Sveti Juraj at approximately 18:00. We can book you post-tour accommodation in the village if required. Please make sure to ask for this service at the time of booking.
